As you might know that India Railways has planning to halt the operation of ‘special trains’ for mail and express trains and revert to pre-pandemic ticket prices.
In view of the same, the Indian Railways has announced the restoration of normal train services on 31 long-distance trains from December 10. This move from the Railways will allow passengers to travel in trains with lower fares than special trains.
It is worth mentioning here that the Indian Railways has steadily lifted several restrictions it had imposed during the COVID pandemic.
The latest decisions are aimed at providing relief to passengers who were facing high ticket fares.
The Northern Railways has said that starting from 10th Dec 2021, passengers can travel on 31 long-distance trains on unreserved tickets as well. Keeping this decision in mind, Northern Railway is increasing the number of unreserved coaches in these trains as before.
Along with this, the concerned passengers will also be able to travel with unreserved tickets in the coaches reserved for Divyang and women.
