Indian Railways Advise Its Passengers To Check Covid-19 Guidelines Issued By Different States

The Ministry of Railways has requested its passengers to check the latest Covid-19 guidelines issued by different state governments before the beginning of their train journey.

Railways have urged the passengers to check and read state-issued covid-19 guidelines before traveling as most of the state has its own specific sets of guidelines/rules and many states have made negative RT-PCR tests mandatory for passengers within 72 to 96 hours of train arrivals.

As per the Ministry of Railways, the According to the initiative has been taken to avoid confusion and hardships for travelers who are planning their journey with Indian Railways.

It must be noted that last week the West Bengal govt has announced that starting from May 07 all passengers coming to West Bengal will require to show a negative coronavirus (RT-PCR test) report not older than 72 hours. The new rule will apply to all those who are traveling to the state by air, trains, and buses.

Meanwhile, as the coronavirus cases in the country have continued to increase the Indian Railways has canceled several special train services due to poor occupancy.

Some Indian Railways’ zones like Eastern Railways, Northern Railways have already announced the cancellation of several special trains.
