India To Open Taj Mahal And All Other Monuments From June 16

India’s iconic Taj Mahal in Agra and all other monuments are set to reopen on June 16, after being closed for more than two months due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

All centrally protected monuments (CPM) under the Archaeological Survey of India  (ASI) closed their doors before the nationwide lockdown and deadly second wave of Covid-19 hit the country.

The latest statement issued by ASI stated:

“All CPMs, sites, and museums under ASI to be opened from June 16, 2021.”

“This opening, however, shall be in strict compliance with the executive orders, if any, issued by State/District Disaster Management Authority. Appropriate guidelines and SOPs issued by Union and State/UT Ministries/Department in this regard shall be scrupulously followed while regulating the flow of visitors.”
