Amid the fear of second wave of Coronavirus in the country, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced closure of all the protected Monuments, Sites and Museums for visitors for a month.
“Due to prevailing COVID situation, it has been decided to close all the Centrally protected Monument/Sites and Museums under Archaeological Survey of India with immediate effect and till 15th May 2021 or until further order.” ASI said in a order.

The Minister of State for Culture & Tourism, Government of India, Prahlad Singh Patel has informed the decision and shared the order of closure on social media a while ago.
The government had kept all ASI sites closed for visitors for a few months at the peak of the first virus scare last year as well.
