Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases and the high positivity rate, the govt of Himachal Pradesh has imposed certain restrictions in the state starting from 13th August 2021.
Now it is mandatory for all passengers arriving at Himachal Pradesh to carry any of the following:
- Covid-19 vaccination certificate of both doses or,
- Negative RT-PCR test report issued from an ICMR approved laboratory not earlier than 72 hours or,
- Negative RAT report not older than 24 hours.
“All persons intending to visit State shall carry their COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate (double doses) or a negative RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours or RAT negative report not older than 24 hours w.e.f. 13th August 2021.” Himachal Pradesh Govt said in an order.

Moreover, Inter-State, Inter-district & Intra-district movement of public transport buses (stage/ contract carriages) is now allowed to be operated with 50% of the registered seating capacity.
For Inter-State public transport buses, the Transport department shall frame a mechanism for checking of RTPCR/RAT/Vaccine Certificate as mentioned at point no.1 so that only eligible passengers will board the buses.
The state govt in order further added that any person violating these measures and COVID appropriate behavior will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable.
