“The Minister informed us that Himachal and Ladakh will be opened for tourists as soon as the states grant permission,” said Captain Swadesh Kumar, President of Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).

“We want all the destinations, which are relevant to Adventure Tourism, like Himachal, Uttarakhand, Leh Ladakh, and the Northeastern States to be opened as early as possible,” he said.

Kumar said that the delegation has assured the government that they would all co-operate on following safety and hygiene protocols.

The government is in the process of framing a comprehensive Covid-19 hygiene protocol and the same will be ready in a week’s time, he said.
