GoAir Asks Some Employees to go on Leave Without Pay

Low fare carrier GoAir is asking a chunk of its employees to go on leave without pay as the Coronavirus crisis makes a significant dent on travel and flight operations, said multiple people aware of the situation.

Spokespersons at the airline didn’t immediately respond to queries.

Late Sunday, the airline’s CEO Vinay Dube wrote an email to employees saying such a step would likely be taken, said a GoAir executive requesting anonymity.

A person in the know said the percentage of staff asked to go on leave could be as high as 35%. It may be higher for support staff and expats. There maybe salary cuts.
