Go First To Resume Flights To Maldives From July 15: Check Schedule, Guidelines

Go First, formerly known as GoAir, announces that it will resume flights from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru to the Maldives starting from 15th July 2021.

initially Go First will operate two flights a week and will increase the frequency from August onwards.

“Go First will resume services to the Maldives with two flights a week (Thursdays and Sundays) from July 15, from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru airports,” said Go First in a statement.

The number of flights has been restricted for now due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, Go First said, adding that the frequency will be gradually increased as the pandemic situation subsides.

“There will be four flights a week from August 1 and daily flights will be available from September 1 onwards,” it added.

“Flights beyond October 1 are already selling as daily operations. Additionally, aimed at offering exceptional convenience to the passengers the flight schedule has been designed to provide seaplane connectivity at Male,” Go First further added.

The announcement comes after the Maldives announced that the travel restrictions placed on South Asian tourists will be lifted from July 15th.

It must be noted that “The Maldives will restart issuing of on-arrival tourist visa starting 15th July to tourists traveling from South Asia. However, arriving tourists will require negative RT-PCR results to enter the Maldives.”

Guidelines For Tourists

Tourists traveling from South Asia will be issued on-arrival tourist visas and allowed to stay in Tourist Resorts effective from 15th July 2021.

However, inbound tourists from South Asia may be accommodated in Guesthouses in Local Islands, effective from 30th July 2021.

Effective 8th July 2021, individuals who have completed two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine 2 weeks prior to the travel date, may be exempted from the mandatory travel quarantine (within the Maldives) given that a Negative PCR test (taken 72 hours prior to travel) is presented.

However, approval should be obtained through “HAALUBELUN PORTAL” and it shall be ensured that none of the respective islands/tourist establishments are under monitoring status before travel.
