German Consulate Changed Visa Fees for Schengen and National Visa

On Wednesday, the German Consulate in Mumbai, India announced changes in the visa fees for the Schengen and National Visa for applicants in India.

According to the Consulate’s update, it will charge an updated fee of ₹6400 for an adult and ₹3200 for minors when applying for a Schengen Visa. While, when you applied for a National Visa, the fees were ₹6000 and ₹3000, respectively.

German Visa Update Fees

For Schengen Visa:

• Current visa fees for a Schengen visa application of an adult amount to 6400 INR.
• The fee for a Schengen visa application for a minor amounts to 3200 INR.

For National Visas:

• The updated visa fees for a national visa application of an adult amount to 6000 INR.
• The fees for a national visa application of a minor amount to 3000 INR.

According to the consulate’s official website, “All customers are requested to pay the visa fees at the time of submission at VFS.”

It further stated that only the visa officers at the Consulate can determine whether a visa fee exemption applies. If a visa fee exemption applies, an applicable refund will be credited to the applicant later.

According to an update on its official website, the visa section does not accept cash. Please bring a demand draft for the appropriate amount. The demand draught must be made payable to the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai.

Furthermore, the fee of 45,000 INR for document verification in the case of certain types of national visas will be requested later in the procedure, NOT at the time of application.

Only applicants for Job seeker visas and Speciality cook visas will be required to present a demand draught in the amount of 45,000 INR at the time of application.
