As you may be aware, obtaining a visa for EU countries is currently taking much longer than usual. This situation has arisen as almost all European Union states have lifted all Covid-related travel restrictions and a large number of Indian travellers are preparing to travel abroad.

In view of this, VFS Global informed that, due to an unusually high volume of requests, the appointment calendar for France in Bangalore is currently full for several weeks.

According to the VFS, France visa applicants in India will also face significant delays in visa processing. It also advised applicants to apply for their France Visa at least three months before their intended travel date.

Please note, as per instruction received from Consulate General of France in Bangalore, applicants are reminded that due to exceptionally high volume of requests, the appointment calendar for visa application submission is full for several weeks and significant delays in the processing of visa applications are to be expected.

It is recommended to apply for a visa at least 3 months before the planned departure date.

The VFS Global also stated that the Consulate General of France will not give any direct information to applicants regarding any delay or processing time.

Another update issued by VFS Global for France Visa applicants stated that effective August 1, 2022, passport delivery via courier service will be unavailable under certain conditions.

General public is hereby notified that effective 1st Aug 2022 passport delivery through courier service cannot be provided under certain circumstances, for more details please contact VFS Helpline number.

It is worth noting that France recently eliminated all Covid-19-related travel requirements for all international arrivals. Inbound visitors are no longer required to provide a sworn declaration stating that they are not infected with Covid-19 and to agree to take an antigen test or biological exam upon arrival in France.

This will increase travel demand even more, and we may see further delays and longer processing times for obtaining a France Visa.
