Flight Operations At Mumbai Airport to be Suspended from 11 AM to 5 PM On October 18

Mumbai airport will be closed for six hours on October 18 for post-monsoon runway repair and maintenance work. According to Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (MIAL), the runway will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for repair and maintenance work on runways 14/32 and 09/27.

According to the MIAL, all airlines, pilots, and crew have been notified of the airport closure.

“As part of its post-monsoon preventive maintenance of runway intersection, major work such as runway edge lights for runway 14/32, AGL (Aeronautical ground lights) upgrade, and other major tasks will be undertaken.”

The runway closure is scheduled for the leanest day of the week, Tuesday, and during the afternoon hours, when air traffic volumes are typically low. Airfares for travel on October 18 have not yet increased in comparison to other dates.

“This annual practice of post-monsoon runway maintenance is part of a series of activities undertaken with precision and meticulous efforts to ensure operational continuity and passenger safety,” MIAL said.
