Are you planning a trip to or from Qatar in the near future? If so, you should double-check your flight status because many airlines are shifting their operations to Qatar’s Doha International Airport (DIA) as the country decides to reopen the airport ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Etihad Airways, the UAE’s second flag carrier airline, has just announced that it will temporarily move its operations from Hamad International Airport (DOH) to Doha International Airport (DIA) from 15 September 2022 to 30 December 2022.

According to an official statement on Etihad Airways’ website, the Qatari authorities requested this move as part of the FIFA World Cup 2022 preparations.

“Guests who have onward connections at Hamad International Airport which were not booked on an Etihad flight are advised to contact their ticketed airline or travel agent for further assistance,” the statement further added.

For Etihad flights to DIA on or after 15 November 2022

To transfer between DIA and DOH, guests must have a pre-arranged visa to enter Qatar. Please visit Travel Requirements by Destination for the most recent updates from Qatari authorities.
