Dubai Travel: Emirates Advise Early Immigration Check for Smooth Travel

Emirates has issued a travel advisory urging passengers departing from Dubai to complete immigration checks 1.5 hours before departure during the peak summer travel period. Follow these tips for a stress-free journey, including using the Emirates app, early luggage drop-off, and city check-in facilities.

Attention travellers flying with Emirates out of Dubai this July! With the summer travel season in full swing, Emirates Airlines anticipates a surge in passenger traffic starting July 6th. To ensure a smooth and stress-free journey, Dubai authorities are urging passengers to complete immigration procedures 1.5 hours before departure.

Essential Timelines for Travellers

To ensure a hassle-free experience, Emirates recommends the following timelines:

  • Arrival at the Airport: Plan to arrive 3 hours before your scheduled departure to account for traffic and check-in processes.
  • Immigration Clearance: Complete immigration checks no later than 1.5 hours before your flight.
  • Boarding Gate Arrival: Reach your designated boarding gate at least 1 hour before departure to avoid last-minute rushes.

By following these timelines, passengers can significantly reduce travel stress and potential delays.

Stress-Free Travel: Emirates’ Key Services

1. Emirates Home Check-In

For passengers in Dubai and Sharjah, the Home Check-In service offers a convenient solution. Agents visit your home, hotel, or office to complete the check-in process and handle your luggage, allowing you to arrive at the airport with just your hand luggage.

This service must be booked at least 24 hours before your flight and is complimentary for First Class passengers and Platinum Skywards members.

2. Emirates App and Website

Leverage the Emirates app or website for a streamlined travel experience. These tools allow you to:

  • Book and modify flights
  • Download a digital boarding pass
  • Receive real-time flight notifications
  • View the in-flight menu
  • Purchase preferred seats and excess baggage allowance
  • Book a chauffeur drive service
  • Pre-select movies on the ICE in-flight entertainment system

Both online and app check-in are available 48 hours before your departure, making it easier to manage your travel details.

3. Early Luggage Drop-Off

Passengers flying from Dubai can benefit from early luggage drop-off at the airport. You can check in and drop off your bags 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours before if travelling to the US. This allows you to arrive closer to your flight time and proceed directly to immigration.

City Check-In Facilities

1. DIFC City Check-In

Located at ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), this facility provides a convenient option for early check-in and luggage drop-off. You can check in from 24 hours up to 4 hours before your flight, with the service operating daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.

2. Ajman Central Bus Terminal

For those travelling from the northern Emirates, the Ajman Central Bus Terminal offers a similar facility. You can check-in and drop off your luggage anytime from 24 hours to 4 hours before departure, available 24 hours a day.

Enjoy Complimentary Ice Cream at Terminal 3

Adding a touch of delight to your travel, Emirates is offering complimentary ice cream for passengers until July 28. Available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12 pm to 6 pm, you can find the Emirates red and white striped ice cream carts in Terminal 3. Choose from a variety of flavours including vanilla, chocolate, dulce de leche, mango sorbet, and lemon sorbet.

Navigating peak travel periods at Dubai International Airport doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By following Emirates’ advised timelines and utilizing their convenient services, you can enjoy a smoother and more relaxed travel experience. Safe travels!
