Dubai Flights: AI Express, Flydubai Announced Revised Schedule Amid DXB Runway Maintenance

Flydubai, a government-owned low-cost airline in Dubai, has announced changes to its flight schedule due to the refurbishment of the northern runway at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Flydubai said that it will operate flights to select destinations from the Dubai World Central (DWC) airport for a 45-day period from May 9 to June 22, 2022.

Flydubai Flights to 34 Destinations From DWC

According to an announcement made by the airline, it will operate flights to 34 destinations from DWC during this period of the refurbishment project. At DWC, passengers will continue to benefit from all the convenient travel services offered by Flydubai. During this period flights to five of these destinations will also be available from DXB.

Flights to all other Flydubai destinations will continue to operate from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB).

Flights to 34 destinations from flydubai’s network of more than 90 destinations will operate from DWC during the runway refurbishment project including flights to Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Delhi, Jeddah, Kuwait, Mumbai, Muscat and Riyadh.

Following the completion of the runway refurbishment project on 22 June 2022, flydubai will resume its flights to all destinations from Dubai International (DXB).

Passengers travelling from DWC will enjoy complimentary parking at the airport. In addition, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will provide a complimentary bus service between all terminals at DXB and DWC every 30 minutes.

Air India Express Temporary Flight Changes

Air India Express, an Indian low-cost carrier, has also recommended travellers carefully check the schedule of flights to and from Dubai. The airline in a social media post said;

“Temporary changes in operations have been announced in May & June 2022 since some flights are being redirected from Dubai Airport to Al Maktoum Dubai (DWC) Airport and Sharjah Airport due to Northern Runway Closure at Dubai.”

Flights to and from Mangaluru, Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Amritsar, Jaipur, and Lucknow would operate from DWC, according to the announcement. Furthermore, select Kozhikode flights will operate out of Sharjah, according to the airline.
