DGCA to AAI: Don’t Allow Unapproved Charter Flights From UAE

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has advised the Indian airport authorities (AAI) not to allow charter flights from the UAE unless approved by the state government to land here.

“It was determined that some of the UAE’s charter flights to India did not require the Indian state’s consent to operate such flights,” the DGCA said in a letter to the AAI on Wednesday.

“In light of the foregoing, it was decided that the airline would submit the relevant state government’s approval to the ATC of the destination prior to departure from UAE airports,” she added.

DGCA said the ATC will not allow the flight to arrive unless the above approval is presented.

“ATC may only allow arrivals if they have been granted the above authorization,” said the DGCA.
