DGCA Extends Restrictions On Domestic Flights & Fare Cap Till November 24

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday in a circular extend the restrictions on domestic flights till 24th November, In the other order DGCA also extends the fare cap on domestic flights till 24th November.

The earlier order had put a fare cap and operational restriction on domestic flights in place till 24th August.

The domestic flight operation in the country resumes on May 25, 2020, and the domestic airline are only allowed to operate with 30% of there capacity which is further increased to 45%

Along with the operation restriction, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has also placed lower and upper limits on airfares depending upon the flight duration.

The order, which was issued by DGCA on May 21, after airlines were allowed to fly following the lockdown, had prescribed a range for airfare depending on the flight distance starting from Rs 2,000-6,000 for flights less than 40 minutes to Rs 6,500-Rs 18,600 for flights of 180-210 minutes.
