Delhi Police Busts Fake Visa Racket, Five People Including Two Agents Arrested

The Indira Gandhi International Airport police squad broke an immigration racket and arrested five persons, including two agents. On March 16, three passengers from India, identified as Sucha Singh, Surjit Singh, and Amandeep Singh, were scheduled to fly to Paris on the Vistara airline.

They were discovered suspicious at a check-in station near the ‘D’ row. Passengers were questioned on suspicion, and their visas were deemed, suspect.

Vistara Airlines was later informed of the situation, and during an examination, all of their visas were confirmed to be counterfeit. A complaint was received from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in this regard, and an FIR was filed.

All Accused Arrested

Police arrested all three accused of further questioning, and it was revealed that their documents were obtained by one agent, namely Sandeep Kumar and that in order to facilitate their journey, the agent collected a certain amount from each person, a fraction of which was paid in cash, and the rest was transferred to his account.

A team was formed with particular tasks to gather information about the accused agent’s current presence and movement, and raids were undertaken at his potential locations. He was later apprehended and arrested.

During questioning, he revealed that he had the French visa stickers applied to the passports of passengers through agents, Gaurav Gosain and Gurvinder Mockha, both of whom live in Delhi.

He further revealed that he met agent Gaurav Goasain through agent Gurwinder Mockha on many occasions in Delhi and Punjab and that they conspired to lure unsuspecting victims and defraud them of their hard-earned money under the pretext of sending them abroad.

Investigations On

He induced the three passengers stated above and received cash from them. He moved an amount of the sum received to the accounts of agents Gaurav Gosain and Gurvinder Mokha, while keeping the rest as his commission.

Accused Sandeep Kumar was brought into police custody, and Gurwinder Mockha was arrested in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. Efforts are being made to locate Gaurav, and additional investigations are being conducted.
