Delhi Airport Travel Alert: Check Your Flight as Arrivals Face Wind Delays
Delhi Airport has issued a travel advisory as shifting wind patterns delay flight arrivals. ATFM is active between 12:30 PM and 4:30 PM today. Meanwhile, all flights from Terminal 2 have been moved to Terminal 1. Passengers are advised to check flight and terminal updates before heading to the airport.

Travellers flying into Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi, should prepare for potential flight delays, as airport authorities have issued an official travel advisory due to adverse weather conditions.
The delays are being caused by shifting wind patterns around the Delhi Airport, which are affecting safe aircraft landings. As a precaution, the airport has implemented Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) for incoming flights.
When Will Delays Occur?
The ATFM measures will be in place on Friday from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM IST, during which arriving flights may experience delays. The Delhi Air Traffic Control (ATC) is coordinating these efforts in line with international safety protocols.
Official Statement from Delhi Airport:
“Due to shifting wind pattern in the vicinity of the airport, certain airline operations may experience delays. Air traffic flow management measures for flight arrivals will be implemented from 1230 IST till 1630 IST today by ATC authorities to ensure safe operations, in accordance with international and regulatory protocols, keeping passenger safety as the highest priority.”

Departures and Other Operations Unaffected
Despite the delays in arrivals, all other airport functions are operating normally. This includes:
- Departures
- Runways
- Terminal operations
Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their airline for the latest flight updates and monitor their flight status via the airport’s official website or mobile apps.
Terminal Change Update: All Terminal 2 Flights Now at Terminal 1
In another key update, all domestic flights previously operating from Terminal 2 (T2) have now been shifted to Terminal 1 (T1). This change affects both arrivals and departures for several budget airlines.
Travellers who are used to departing from or arriving at Terminal 2 should double-check their terminal information before heading to the airport.
What Passengers Should Do
To avoid confusion and minimise disruption, here are a few tips:
- Check your flight status online or via airline apps
- Arrive early to allow extra time for any potential delays
- Confirm your terminal, as all T2 flights now operate from T1
- Stay connected with your airline for real-time updates
Stay Prepared and Informed
While Delhi Airport continues to prioritise passenger safety through weather-related precautions, travellers can avoid hassles by planning ahead. With the added change of all T2 flights now at T1, staying informed is key to a smooth travel experience.
