Delhi Airport: More than 20 flights delayed, several cancelled amid protests against CAA

As much as 24 domestic flights have been delayed and more than 20 plus flights has been cancelled from Delhi airport due to protests against CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act).

Massive traffic jams were reported in many parts of the national capital as the Delhi Police imposed traffic restrictions. The police had already imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 that bar an assembly of more than four people around Red Fort.

IndiGo has cancelled 19 flights when the crew members of the airline got stuck in a traffic jam, also due to other issues. Also, the airline waived off cancellation charges. Indigo twitted “We’re offering free move for passengers travelling to/from Delhi today basis seat availability. Cancellations can be done at no extra charge.”

Eight Air India flights have also been delayed today.

GoAir has also offer rescheduling/cancellation fee waiver to passengers travelling to/from Delhi for today 19th Dec’19 and tomorrow 20th Dec’19. Customers just need to pay the fare difference.

Spicejet has also tweeted: “There is heavy traffic congestion on the Delhi-Gurgaon highway. Passengers are advised to keep a check on live traffic while traveling to the Delhi airport and allow themselves sufficient time for the journey. “

Vistara has also offered free cancellation and changes for those who are booked to travel from Delhi today.
