Budget carrier IndiGo on Friday announced that it will resume flight operations at Delhi airport’s Terminal 2 starting from 22nd July 2021.

“Flight numbers 6E2000 – 6E2999 will arrive and depart from Terminal 2, Delhi, starting 22nd July 2021. Please check your flight number and terminal before leaving for the airport for a hassle-free journey,” said IndiGo on its website.

The Delhi Airport Authorities have shut down Terminal T2 starting from May 18 after the number of domestic flights has reduced significantly due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

“We were handling a peak of 1.2 lakh passengers daily (domestic and International, arrivals and departures) this February which was the highest since the Covid outbreak last March-end. During the second wave, this number crashed to 30,000, and post the second wave we are currently at about 60,000 passengers daily,” said a Delhi Airport official.

It’s worth mentioning that as the number of Covid-19 cases in India continues to decline, more people start traveling again. Also, many states have started lifting the Covid-19 travel restriction which includes mandatory RT-PCR test reports.

Recently, the Maharashtra government has said domestic flight passengers who are fully vaccinated will not need to produce a negative RT-PCR test report.
