Vistara is operated as an Indian full-service carrier and has its headquarters in Gurgaon. The airline has started its operation on 9 January 2015 with its inaugural flight between Delhi and Mumbai.

The airline had carried more than 20 Lakhs passengers by June 2016 and has a 4% share of the domestic carrier market in the financial year 2019.
