Preventive Steps for International Travelers at Bengaluru Airport
Quarantine and Testing Protocols: Travelers showing symptoms of Mpox are subject to a mandatory 21-day quarantine, similar to measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to airport screening, the Karnataka government has worked with local health facilities to provide rapid testing and isolation services to anyone suspected of carrying the virus. These steps are designed to safeguard public health without causing undue disruption to international travel.
Stay Safe: Hygiene and Masking Advice
As Mpox is primarily transmitted through respiratory droplets, health authorities recommend that travelers follow basic preventive steps such as frequent hand washing and wearing masks. These small actions can play a significant role in reducing the risk of transmission, especially in crowded airport environments.
By maintaining vigilance and adhering to health protocols, international travelers arriving in Bengaluru can help prevent the spread of Mpox while ensuring a safe journey for all.
