Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport has implemented a new Passenger Validation System (PVS) as part of an overall security and service improvement programme that began on September 1, 2022.

The PVS system is an important enhancement being made for the safety of all passengers and staff, as well as to improve traffic flow through Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand’s primary international gateway, which aspires to be one of the world’s best airports.

Passenger Validation System (PVS)

Starting From 09.00 Hrs. on 1 September, the new Passenger Validation System (PVS) will be in operation at:

  • The entrance to the domestic departure checkpoints is located behind the check-in counters in Rows C-D (there are eight units in total).
  • The entrance to the international departure passenger checkpoints in Zone 2 is located behind the check-in counters in Rows J-K (two units) and Rows L-M (two units).
  • The ramp leading to the international departure passenger checkpoints in Zone 3 is located behind the check-in counters in Rows S-T. (three units).
  • The PVS verifies passenger travel information to improve screening capability and safety standards. It works by having passengers place their paper or E-boarding passes on the machine, which reads and checks their travel information.

The system allows for precise passenger screening and prevents unauthorised individuals from entering airside and restricted areas. It can also prevent boarding passes that have already been processed from being used again.

Airport staff will be on hand to provide advice and assistance to passengers who use the PVS.
