Andaman Reopen For Tourism Activities With Immediate Effect

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration on Thursday announced the reopening of tourists spots for tourism activities with immediate effect.

As per details shared by Andaman Tourism, it has opened the Cellular Jail, Museums, Sound & Light Shows, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) Island For Day Visit, and Sound & Light Show at NSCB Island.

However, there are some restrictions on visitors’ capacity and only limited time slots are available for tourists.

Amid the rising cases of Covid-19 cases, the districts authorities of South Andaman have imposed several restrictions and also closed all tourist spots on 11th Jan 2022.

Now, an order issued by the authorities of Andaman stated; “The Competent Authority is pleased to open the following Tourism Activities in South Andaman District with immediate effect.”

The order further added that any other orders or advisories issued by the Govt. of India, A&N Administration, or any other Competent Authority with regard to Covid-19 protocol will also have to be followed, as applicable.

Travelers who wish to travel to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will have to follow the below guidelines for entry;

All Incoming passengers aged 2 years and above arriving shall have to mandatorily carry RT-PCR negative test report issued from ICMR approved lab, subject to the condition that RT-PCR test should have been taken within 48 hours. RT-PCR timeline starts from the swab collection time.

In addition to the above, all incoming passengers who have a foreign travel history in the last 30days, all unvaccinated and partially vaccinated shall also undergo RT-PCR test upon arrival free of cost and will have to self-isolate themselves till the result is received.

Quarantine Rules

  1. All passengers shall be required to undergo mandatory home or institutional quarantine till result of their on arrival test is released.
  2. If any passenger tests positive will be sent for institutional quarantine for further treatment.
