AirAsia has been crowned the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for 2025 by Airline Ratings, reaffirming its dominance in budget-friendly air travel. This latest recognition highlights the airline’s commitment to affordability, innovation, and passenger satisfaction.

How AirAsia Secured the Top Spot

Airline Ratings evaluates airlines based on multiple factors, including ticket pricing, route network, onboard services, and safety standards. For 2025, the highest-ranking low-cost carriers not only offered budget-friendly fares but also provided extensive connectivity and enhanced in-flight services such as meals, drinks, and snacks.

To qualify for this recognition, airlines had to meet strict safety benchmarks, including a seven-star safety rating. AirAsia’s consistent ability to provide value-driven services while ensuring passenger safety played a pivotal role in earning this top position.

The airline operates hubs in five key markets: Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia.

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, credited this success to the airline’s dedicated workforce, known as ‘Allstars,’ and its commitment to innovation and service excellence.

“Since 2018, AirAsia has consistently ranked among the world’s best low-cost airlines,” Lingam stated. “Starting 2025 with this recognition, alongside our recent 7/7 safety rating, underscores our commitment to continuous improvement and delivering the best travel experience for our guests.”
