Indian flagship carrier Air India has announced that it will resume direct non-stop flights between Delhi and Sydney, Australia starting from 15th Nov 2021.
As per the announcement made by the airline, it will be operating thrice-a-week service from on Delhi- Sydney-Delhi sector under the Vande Bharat Mission.

Air India in a tweet also informed that the bookings would start from 1200 hours on Wednesday through booking offices, the Air India website, authorized travel agents, and booking offices.

Qantas To Launch Flights On Sydney-Delhi Route
Air India’s decision to start direct flights on the said route comes after the Australian flag-carrier Qantas announced that it has a plan to launch a new route from Sydney to Delhi on 6 December 2021 with three return flights per week with its A330 aircraft.
However, this is subject to discussions with Indian authorities to finalize necessary approvals. The flights would initially operate until at least late March 2022, with a view to continuing if there is sufficient demand.
Australia To Ease Travel Restrictions
As Australia approaches the 80 percent vaccination rate, the government is preparing to remove the current international travel restrictions related to COVID-19 and plan to safely reopen the international border starting November.
Is Covishield Approved By Australia?
The TGA has announced that two additional vaccines Coronavac (Sinovac) and Covishield (AstraZeneca/Serum Institute of India) should be considered as ‘recognized vaccines’ for the purpose of determining incoming international travelers as being appropriately vaccinated.
The recognition of these vaccines is a major milestone towards more Australians vaccinated overseas getting home sooner.
