Air India Operate Over 11000 Flights From 55 Countries Under Vande Bharat Mission

Indian national carrier Air India on Saturday in a tweet said that it has operated more than 11000 flights to and from 55 countries under the Vande Bharat Mission.

The Vande Bharat Mission was started by the Govt. of India on 06th May 2020 to repatriate Indians stranded across the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Air India and its wholly-owned subsidiary Air India Express has operated the most number of flights under this mission.

“New Milestone achieved. Air India flew more than 15 lakh passengers to and from over 75 destinations across 55 countries by over 11000 Flights.” Air India said in a tweet.

Till now more than 3.9 million people facilitated under the Vande Bharat Mission since its launch. The Mission is currently in its Phase 8+ and over 1000 international flights have been scheduled to operate from 15 countries with a capacity to repatriate an estimated 1.5 lakh people.

In the current phase of the Vande Bharat Mission, Air India will operate flights from Bangkok, Colombo, Kuwait, Nairobi, Rome, Singapore, Sydney, Tel Aviv, and Yangon. While Air India Express will operate over 800 flights from 6 countries viz. Bahrain, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, and the UAE.

Apart from the Vande Bharat Mission, India has signed air bubble agreement with a total of 23 countries which includes Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Maldives, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates (UAE), United Kingdom (UK) And, United States of America (USA)
