Air India International Flights On September 28, Under Vande Bharat Mission

The Govt. of India on May 06, 2020, has started the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ to repatriate Indians stranded all over the world due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

On 28th August, the Ministry of External Affairs has announced that Phase 6 of the Vande Bharat Mission will begin from September 1, to repatriate Indians stranded abroad due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said the Vande Bharat Mission Phase 6 became operational on September 1 and 1,007 international flights are scheduled to operate during this month.

As per the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) till 23st September 2020 a total of 5590 repatriation flights were operated by Air India and Air India Express under the Vande Bharat Mission. These VBM flights have carried over 7.33 lakh passengers.

Out of 5590 repatriation flights, 2,797 were inbound flights carrying 4,81,405 passengers and 2,793 were outbound flights with 2,51,981 fliers.
