Air India International Flights On December 11 Under Vande Bharat Mission

The Govt. of India on May 06, 2020, has started the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ to repatriate Indians stranded all over the world due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Indian national carrier Air India and its wholly-owned subsidiary Air India Express have already announced their schedule for the month of December 2020.

In December 2020, Air India will operate flights from Bangkok, Colombo, Kuwait, Nairobi, Rome, Singapore, Sydney, Tel Aviv, and Yangon.

While Air India Express will operate over 700 flights from 6 countries viz. Bahrain, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, and UAE under the Vande Bharat Mission and Air Bubble Arrangements.

The Ministry of External Affairs has extended the Phase 8 of Vande Bharat Mission has been extended till December 31, 2020.

“Under this extended phase called Phase 8 Plus, 897 international flights have been scheduled to operate from 15 countries with a capacity to repatriate an estimated 1.5 lakh people.”

As per the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MocA), 10,892 repatriation flights were operated by the Air India Group under the Vande Bharat Mission till December 8, carrying over 14.15 lakh passengers. Of these, 5,444 were inbound flights carrying 8,79,597 passengers and 5,448 were outbound flights with 5,36,061 fliers.
