Air India Group Flown Over 3 Million Passengers Under Vande Bharat Mission

Indian flag-carrier Air India in a social media post informed that the Air India Group (Air India and AI Express) has flown over 3 Million passengers under the Vande Bharat Mission since it was launched on 7th May 2020.

“Air India group has the privilege of having flown over 3 Million passengers under Vande Bharat Mission since it was launched on 7th May, 2020. The mission has now entered the 10th phase. We are proud to be part of the World’s largest repatriation mission.” Air India said in a tweet.

Currently, the Vande Bharat Mission is in its 10th Phase and AI has schedule to operate a total of 88 flights that connect various cities of India to Bangkok, Colombo, Rome, Sydney, Tel Aviv, and Yangon.

As per the data uploaded on the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) website Air India and Air India Express together has carried a total of 30,22,287 passengers on 21,825 flights in 10 phases of the Vande Bharat Mission.

This includes 17,38,231 inbound passengers and 12,84,056 outbound passengers.

It must be noted that govt of India has extended the ban on regular international flights to and from India till 11.59 pm on 30th April 2021 and International flights are only operated under the Vande Bharat Mission and Air Bubble Arrangements.

Till now India has signed an air bubble agreement with 27 countries which includes Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Maldives, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Ukraine, USA, and Uzbekistan.
