Air India Express to Offer Extra 10 Kg of Free Baggage for Flights From Riyadh

Air India Express, an Indian low-cost carrier on Thursday announced that it would be offering a free 10 KG baggage allowance for travellers from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Notably, the offer is only valid when you travel from Riyadh to Kozhikode, Kannur and Kochi from 20th October to 30th November 2022.

10 KG Free Baggage

Earlier, the airline offered only 30 Kg of FBA (Free Baggage Allowance) for flights to/from the Middle East and Gulf countries. Now, as per a social media update, Air India Express will allow 40 Kg of FBA for passengers who are;

  • Travelling From: Riyadh to Trivandrum, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur
  • Travel Between: October 20 to November 30

The airline has not provided additional information, such as how to obtain the extra free baggage, so it can be assumed that it applies to all passengers travelling on the specified routes during the offer period.

Direct Flights between Riyadh and Kochi

Air India Express recently announced direct flights between Riyadh and Kochi beginning in November 2022. According to the information provided by the carrier, there will be one weekly service between the two cities.

The flight from Riyadh to Kochi will operate every Wednesday, while the flight from Kochi to Riyadh will operate every Friday.

The airline also said that it has currently offered the lowest fares of the season on flights between India and Gulf countries.

Air India Express Check-in Baggage

According to the Air India Express website, depending on the destination, each guest, including infants, can carry free baggage (subject to airline regulations). Based on seasonal trends, Air India Express may offer tiered fares with 20/30/40 kgs free baggage allowance on selected destinations from time to time.

  • Gulf Countries to India: 20/30/40 Kgs (Based on the fare purchased)
  • India to Gulf Countries: 20 Kgs
  • Singapore to India: 20/30 Kgs
  • India to other International Destinations: 20 Kgs
  • Domestic Flights: 25 Kgs

Checked-in baggage in excess of the free allowance is subject to excess baggage charges and aircraft space availability (unless otherwise specified). Infants are allowed 10 kg of free baggage (Including 7 kg hand baggage if any).

The sum of the three dimensions (length + breadth + height) for each piece of Baggage must not exceed 62 inches or 158 centimetres.
