Air India Express Announced New Flights to Sharjah and Jeddah Under Winter Schedule

Air India Express, an Indian low-cost airline and a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India on Thursday announced that it will start operating new flights to Sharjah and Jeddah under its winter schedule 2022.

Vijayawada-Sharjah Flights

As per a press release issued by the airline, the inaugural flight is scheduled to take off on October 31 at 06.35 PM. The inaugural fares for the Vijayawada-Sharjah sector begin at Rs 13,669, while those for the Sharjah-Vijayawada sector begin at AED 399.

It is worth mentioning here that, currently, Air India Express is the only airline that offers international services in and out of Vijayawada.

In addition to Sharjah, Air India Express uses a B737-800 NG aircraft to fly from Vijayawada to Muscat and Kuwait, offering comfortable seats, buy-on-board meal service in addition to pre-ordered hot meals, and in-seat power for charging mobile devices.

Kannur-Jeddah Flights

Apart from the flights between Vijayawada and Sharjah, the airline has also announced to operate a new service between Kannur-Jeddah during the winter schedule of 2022 starting from 6th November 2022.

Air India Express will operate a weekly flight between Kannur and Jeddah every Sunday. Notably, Air India Express is the only carrier that has direct flights on the Kannur-Jeddah route.

Recently, the airline has also announced new direct flights connecting Kannur, Kerala with Dubai, UAE starting November 2022. Air India Express said that it will operate 4 weekly services between both cities under its Winter schedule which begins on the last Sunday of October (Oct 30, 2022) and ends on the last Saturday of March (Mar 26, 2022).
