Flag-carrier Air India has announced new flights between India and Australia under phase 7 of the Vande Bharat Mission in December.
As per the schedule posted by Air India, nine flights will be available from India to Australia, and a similar number of flights from Australia to India. All these flights will be operated between Sydney and New Delhi international airports.

As many Australians are stranded in India because of the border closures, flights from India to Australia are specially for Australian citizens who want to travel to Australia.
The Australian high commissioner to India, Barry O’Farrell, has advised travelers to check their eligibility before booking their tickets.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the govt is functioning to bring over 25,000 citizens back home. PM Morrison announced additional 150 places for returning Australians in Queensland.
The limit on the number of individuals returning to Australia will now be applicable over a weekly-period, instead of a daily cap, to increase flexibility.
