Air Canada, the flag carrier of Canada on Thursday announced a new flight connecting Canada and the UAE, providing a significant boost to nonstop direct connectivity between the two countries.
According to the details shared by the airline its flight AC 078, connecting Vancouver (YVR) in Canada to Dubai (DXB) in the UAE, will begin in October 2023, with four flights per week beginning on October 28, 2023.

Longest Flight for Air Canada
It is worth mentioning here that this new route will be Air Canada’s longest flight, covering over 6300 nautical miles with an average flight time of 16 hours and 30 minutes.
The Vancouver and Dubai flights will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft featuring three cabins of service for customers to choose from, including Signature Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy and Economy Class.
The aircraft will have 298 seats, 30 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 247 in economy. Tickets are already on the market.
Flight Schedule
The flights are expected to leave YVR at 9:50 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The new flight will be the second non-stop connection between the two countries, as Air Canada already operates daily non-stop flights between Toronto and Dubai. The flight schedule is as follows:
Flights have also been built to conveniently connect to and from destinations in Alberta, BC and the western USA via Air Canada’s hub at YVR.

Improved Connectivity and Convenience for Travellers
Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s senior vice president for network planning and revenue management, said;
“We are extremely pleased to add the only non-stop service linking Vancouver and Dubai, two iconic and vibrant global destinations. In cooperation with our codeshare and frequent flyer partner Emirates, our Vancouver-Dubai flights will connect to a multitude of destinations across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and East Africa in Dubai, providing customers with choice and convenience while travelling for business or visiting friends and family.”
This new flight comes in the wake of increased international travel across the globe as COVID-19 border measures ease. The new connection will undoubtedly improve connectivity and convenience for travellers between Canada and the UAE.
