Adani Group today signed 3 Concession Agreements with Airports Authority Of India (AAI) for Operations, Management & Development of Jaipur, Guwahati & Thiruvananthapuram Airports.
“We are pleased to inform you that Adani Jaipur International Airport Limited, Adani Guwahati International Airport Limited and Adani Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Limited, wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Company have signed the Concession Agreement on 19th January, 2021 with Airports Authority of India for the Operations,” the company said in a regulatory filing today.
“The concession period is 50 years from the commercial operation date,” the company said in the filing.
The agreements were signed in presence of Chairman, AAI & senior officials of AAI & Adani Enterprises Ltd.
“Signed Concession Agreements of Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram Airports were exchanged between N.V. Subbarayudu, ED (SIU), AAI & Behnad Zandi, CEO Adani Airports in presence of AAI Chairman, AAI Board Members & senior officials from AAI & Adani Enterprises Ltd“, informed AAI.
The group is also likely to submit an undertaking that it will abide by the legal outcome in the pending cases as far as Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati airports are concerned.
Once the agreement is signed, Adani Group will get six months to take over the three airports, the sources added.
“It is expected that Adani Group will take over Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram airports by July,” sources added.
The two stakeholders signed the letter of agreement for the three airports in September 2020.
Adani Group had emerged as the highest bidder for six AAI airports namely Lucknow, Mangalore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram in February 2019.
