Abu Dhabi Allows Quarantine-Free Travel For Passengers From 29 Countries

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates has recently updated its green list for travel. All the passengers arriving from ‘Green List’ countries will be exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi and will only be required to undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi Airport.

Abu Dhabi – Green List Countries And Travel Corridors

You won’t need to quarantine if you’re traveling on a direct flight to Abu Dhabi from any of the countries below. 

  • Australia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Bhutan
  • Brunei
  • China
  • Cuba
  • Germany
  • Greenland
  • Hong Kong (SAR)
  • Iceland
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Mauritius
  • Moldova
  • Morocco
  • New Zealand
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Singapore
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Switzerland
  • Taiwan (ROC)
  • Tajikistan
  • United Kingdom
  • United States of America
  • Uzbekistan

Travel Corridors

If you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you will not be required to quarantine when you travel between the UAE and:

  • Bahrain
  • Greece
  • Seychelles 

Do you need to quarantine in Abu Dhabi?

You won’t need to quarantine if you’re traveling on a direct flight from a Green list country, or travel corridor country if you have been fully vaccinated.

For flights from all other destinations, you will be required to quarantine for up to 10 days depending on your vaccination status and wear a medically approved wristband.

If you are traveling from a country that the UAE authorities deem to be high-risk, you will be subject to quarantine at a government facility.

If you are travelling to UAE on tourist visa;

  • Travelers from green list country
    • No Quarantine
    • Covid-19 Test on arrival, day six and day 12
  • All other destinations
    • 10 days quarantine
    • Test on arrival, day six and day 12

UAE National or Resident;

  • Vaccinated Travelers (final dose received at least 28 days before travel)
    • Green list country: No quarantine and Test on arrival and day six
    • Travel corridor country: No quarantine and Test on arrival and day six
    • All other destinations: Five days quarantine and Test on arrival and day four
  • Not vaccinated Travelers
    • Green list country: No quarantine and Test on arrival, day six and day 12
    • Travel corridor country: 10 days quarantine and Test on arrival and day eight
    • All other destinations: 10 days quarantine and Test on arrival and day eight

Abu Dhabi is also planning to end quarantine for all international arrivals starting from July 1.

“It will be similar to the Dubai system – the PCR protocol will be different from high-risk to low-risk destinations,” said Ali Al Shaiba, executive director of Tourism and Marketing, DCT Abu Dhabi. “Quarantine will not be an option,” he further added.
