Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 1 To Start Operations From March 10 With 102 Flights

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has all set to start domestic flight operations from its Terminal 1 (T1) from tomorrow (March 10) with 102 flights across 27 destinations.

As per the officials of Mumbai Airport, the Terminal 1 (T1) will cater to five domestic carriers.

Goair, Starair, Air Asia, and Trujet will resume all their domestic operations from Terminal 1. Indigo’s domestic flights with subset series 6E 5500 – 6E 5900 will also be operated from this terminal.

Flight services will start at T1 after almost a year with a total of 51 flights at departure and 51 at arrivals.

The airport will have 38 check-in counters operational across the five domestic carriers. CSMIA (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport) has also placed eight common-use self-service (CUSS) kiosks on the curbside of the terminal to enable passengers to complete their check-in process without direct interaction with airport personnel.

The airport will also be resuming its outlet and lounge services.

Mumbai’s T1 will host eight registration desks and six testing booths where passengers can opt to undergo the RT-PCR test at the airport for a cost of ₹850.

A dedicated room has also been set up for the isolation of any suspected symptomatic passenger before transferring them to the designated facility.

Mumbai airport said, “The airport will continue to ensure stringent screening of passengers and personnel, including mandatory compliance of wearing face masks and other necessary PPE at T1.

“The terminal will re-open with established measures to promote the practice of social distancing including floor markers, spaced seating arrangements, and installation of plexiglass to minimise face-to-face interactions between airport personnel and passengers.

“Hand sanitisers have been strategically placed through the premise, and contactless payments will be encouraged. Moreover, the airport will carry out regular disinfection of the terminal, especially areas that include high touchpoints.”
